Summer Reading 2023
Sharing common literature builds community and sparks discussion long after the books are tucked away. This year our summer reading selections focus on the all-important human quality of empathy.
Please feel free to participate in reading the “assigned” books, especially the ones for the high school / adult level. The books we selected for staff and parents should bring you a bit of hope for a better world—or least a little joy in your daily life.
The books are available to borrow at school or the Monroe County Library. Please support independent bookstores by purchasing your copies from independent bookseller. We highly recommend both Nicola’s Books and Literati Bookstore in Ann Arbor. We encourage upper elementary and secondary students to own a personal copy of each book.
