FACULTY Robin Bloomberg grew up in Monroe, Michigan. A cellist, she graduated from The University of Michigan with a Bachelor of Music Education degree, and later, from Ohio State University, with her Master of Music. Robin has served as director of orchestras for the Mona Shores Public Schools in West Michigan, and the Wellington School, an independent school in Upper Arlington, Ohio. Robin has served as music director of music camps in Michigan, Ohio, and Alaska, as well as the Monroe Youth Orchestras and Capital University's Community Music School Orchestra. She is past-president of the Ohio String Teachers Association. In 2002, Robin was selected to help revise the National String Syllabus published by the American String Teachers Association. Robin helped implement Ohio State's Pre-College String program, a prep program for Columbus area string students that also served as a vehicle for teacher training at Ohio State. She has also served on the faculty of Ohio State's summer string teacher training workshops and presented clinics to orchestra students in many school districts throughout Michigan and Ohio. Always active as a performer, Robin's performance credits are many and include the Dearborn Symphony, Westerville Civic Orchestra, Springfield Symphony, The West Shore Symphony and many other community symphony orchestras. As a union musician, Robin had the opportunity to perform with Opera Columbus, Ballet Met of Columbus, Natalie Cole's "Unforgettable" tour, Dionne Warwick and others. Currently, Robin resides in Monroe and represents the Baroque Violin Shop of Cincinnati. She is co-director of Monroe Youth Orchestras and has a special passion for her group of fiddlers, Team Fiddle. Always loving to perform, she performs as a cellist with The Trio De LaFayette and locally as a free-lance musician. Robin is married to Jeff and has two children, Daniel and Deborah.
