FACULTY
Pat Gruber began working at Meadow Montessori more than a dozen years ago and this year marks her sixth year as a Senior classroom teacher. Pat’s first duties at MMS stemmed from active volunteerism. Her love of helping with operas, 4-H, reading with Junior students, and occasionally working with Meg Fedorowicz in Preschool South quickly evolved into a full-time job. In 1993, Pat accepted a position as an assistant to Darcy Piedmonte working in the Intermediate classroom. Five years later, she added Farm Program and Senior math to her teaching schedule. This made the transition into the Senior classroom as a full time teacher working with Catharine Calder two years later that much easier. Although she is now a seasoned Senior classroom teacher, she feels fortunate to have worked at so many different levels. Pat and her husband Ron believe strongly in the opportunities given to children in a Montessori environment. Three of their five daughters attended Meadow Montessori. Annie is now a graduate of Lourdes College, working as an occupational therapist; Libby is a senior at Bard College, studying photography; and Katy is currently an assistant in Children's House East. The love of teaching runs in the family as evidenced by their oldest daughter Julie who teaches German in Ann Arbor and their daughter Amy, a Montessori teacher in Lansing.
