Elizabeth earned her Bachelor of Music degree in Instrumental Music Education from Oberlin Conservatory of Music in 1986, with piano as her major instrument and clarinet as her secondary instrument. After graduation, she was employed as a full-time music teacher in the public schools for twelve years, teaching instrumental and vocal music. Elizabeth earned her Master of Arts degree in Choral Music Education from Eastern Michigan University in 1999 where she was employed as an adjunct faculty member in music. Elizabeth is currently working towards her second Professional Certificate for Music K-12 in the state of Michigan through post-graduate studies in piano performance. Elizabeth is an adjunct faculty member in music at Monroe County Community College, and a piano instructor at River Raisin Centre for the Arts in Monroe.
Elizabeth played piano and keyboard in the pit orchestras for several local and regional Broadway productions, and served as rehearsal pianist, and/or music director. Elizabeth also loves playing the clarinet and piano with the Monroe County Community College College-Community Band. She was a piano accompanist for the Monroe Middle School Choirs, the Dundee Community Schools Choirs, and a clarinet instructor and head chaperone for the Monroe High School Marching Band. Elizabeth annually serves as a piano accompanist for the Michigan School Band and Orchestra Association’s Solo and Ensemble Festivals at the district and state levels, and continues to play piano at a variety of local and regional events.
